The Phantom of the Opera - Videos List LONDON/WEST END: Michael Crawford, Rebecca Caine, Steve Barton 1987; London Highlights. 'All I Ask of You' is audio only with still pictures; video ends at 'Notes II'. Extremely difficult to make out anything other than the figures of people; black-and-white image and very heavy generation loss. Also includes some concert performances and news clips from the Broadway and Los Angeles productions.
Dave Willetts, Jan Hartley-Morris, Michael Cormick 1988; London VERISON 1: Complete version, but there's a lot of generation loss and tons of washout and color bleeding. Really bad quality. VERSION 2: 35 minutes of Phantom highlights only, but a MAJOR upgrade over the old version, less gen loss and some more detail. Much more watchable. This version just resurfaced in 2020.
Ethan Freeman, Jill Washington, Simon Bowman 1995; London Proshot by RUG. Fuzzy picture, some color loss in darker parts, and hard to see face expressions except in the occasional closeups. Quite a bit of spotlight washout, but big picture and has survived fairly well for something so old. Very nutball Phantom in Ethan Freeman, nice classical Christine in Jill Washington. Simon Bowman is a surprisingly good Raoul, considering how his Phantom turned out.
Scott Davies, Meredith Braun, Matthew Cammelle March 9, 2000; London Good quality video, nice colors and details. Filmer was sitting very close to the stage, but a lot of heads get in the way; there is one roving head that is particularly irksome. Very interesting cast.
Scott Davies, Charlotte Page, Matthew Cammelle Summer 2000; London Looks like it was filmed by the same person as above video; same bright colors and detail. Complete show, nothing missing. Charlotte Page has a lovely operatic voice, though her acting can get a bit over-the-top.
John Owen-Jones, Celia Graham, Robert Finlayson September 21, 2002; London Shot from the stalls, so many good closeups but has a few heads to film around. Okay quality, more color bleeding and fuzzier detail than some older London videos. I've heard there's a video of the same cast from a different date and shot from a slightly different angle; would love to have that. John Owen-Jones and Celia Graham have great chemistry; Celia notices the camera at one point in 'Think of Me'.
John Owen-Jones, Rachel Barrell, Oliver Thornton, Anthony Cable (u/s), Sam Hiller, Sally Harrison, Emma Edwards (u/s), Rohan Tickell, Claire Tilling* October 15, 2004; London Great quality video, very clear. Filmed at the beginning of Rachel Barrell's run, she's not quite as good as she would be later.
John Owen-Jones, Rachel Barrell, Oliver Thornton* February 26, 2005; London John Owen-Jones's last show of his first run. Filmed from the stalls, so great closeups but lots of heads. Rather funny flub where the overture track stops for a few seconds before starting over; too bad there's a blackout there. John Owen-Jones and Rachel Barrell are on fire here, great chemistry. Missing the beginning of 'Masquerade', so footage of Celia Graham as Christine was spliced in.
Matthew Cammelle, Rachel Barrell, David Shannon* 2006; London Separate hour of footage that came with the February 26, 2006 video. Includes the title song to 'Prima Donna', 'Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again' to 'Wandering Child', and 'Point of No Return' to the end of Act 2. Incredible quality, beautiful closeups and no obstructions.
Earl Carpenter, Katie Knight-Adams, David Shannon, James Barron, Richard Sidaway (u/s), Wendy Ferguson, Annette Yeo, Rohan Tickell, Heidi Ann O'Brien 2006; London SA78's master. NFT until April 1st, 2023. Two MP4 videos, 12 GB in size. Full show, audio from external source, one head and a black bar but filmer shoots around it.
Earl Carpenter, Celia Graham, David Shannon, David Lawrence (u/s), Sam Hiller, Wendy Ferguson, Emily Harvey (u/s), Rohan Tickell, Heidi Ann O'Brien January 2006; London SA78's master, NFT until March 1st, 2023. Two MP4 files, 11 GB in size. Act One starts partway through the auction and Act Two misses only the Entr'acte. Some obstruction due to black bar in lower part of the picture and a head in the center and stage right. Otherwise very good quality video and well-filmed with excellent cast.
Earl Carpenter, Rachel Barrell, David Shannon, David Lawrence (u/s), Sam Hiller, Wendy Ferguson, Emily Harvey (u/s), Rohan Tickell, Heidi Ann O'Brien January 2006; London Recently received complete upgrade of this video, gorgeous quality now.
Earl Carpenter, Rachel Barrell, David Shannon February 4, 2006; London Highlights. Great quality video of the performance with many excellent closeups. Includes a flub where the Phantom does not get his dressing robe in time for 'Stranger Than You Dreamt It'. Some head obstruction on the left side of the stage, and the kiss at the end of the 'Final Lair' is missed.
Matthew Cammelle (s/b), Rachel Barrell, David Shannon, James Barron, Sam Hiller, Wendy Ferguson, Annette Yeo, Rohan Tickell, Heidi Ann O'Brien* February 25, 2006; London Incredibly beautiful video, one of the best I've ever seen. Full show - includes 'All I Ask of You' and 'Point of No Return'. Rachel Barrell seems to be having an off night here. Little bonus in 'Masquerade: the Man/Woman costume is replaced with the slavegirl costume from Hannibal.
Matthew Cammelle, Rachel Barrell, David Shannon* February 26, 2006; London Different from the February 25, 2006 video (though I'm unsure of the actual date), looks like it was shot by the same filmer though, so same incredible quality and detail. Comes with an extra hour of footage from another show, which I have given its own separate listing (the 2006 video above).
Matthew Cammelle (s/b The Phantom of the Opera), Rachel Barrell (Christine Daaé), David Shannon (Raoul), Wendy Ferguson (Carlotta Giudicelli), James Barron (Monsieur Firmin), Sam Hiller (Monsieur André), Annette Yeo (Madame Giry), Naomi Cobby (u/s Meg Giry) June 17, 2006; London (Matinee) Entire bottom of the stage is blocked. Kind of a worthless video.
Ramin Karimloo, Gina Beck, Simon Bailey, Kate Radmilovic, Barry James, Gareth Snook, Heather Jackson, Rohan Tickell, Tori Johns September 9, 2008; London Only full video of Ramin Karimloo and Gina Beck. Same master as the September 6, 2008 video, filmer tends to dive into the audience at times. First for Gina Beck, Simon Bailey, Kate Radmilovic, and Tori Johns.
David Shannon, Gina Beck, Simon Bailey, Rebecca Lock, Gareth Snook, Barry James, Nicky Adams, Emma Harris August 18, 2010; London Full video, gorgeous video, and sadly not for trade.
David Shannon, Gina Beck, Will Barratt (u/s), Rebecca Lock, Gareth Snook, Barry James, Nicky Adams, Emma Harris August 24, 2010; London Highlights: Act 1 starts at Hannibal, Act 2 at 'Wishing'. Another gorgeous video, and another that's not for trade.
Ramin Karimloo, Sierra Boggess, Hadley Fraser, Wendy Ferguson, Barry James, Gareth Snook, Wynne Evans, Liz Robertson, Daisy Maywood October 2, 2011; London Proshot, high-quality rip of the livestream. Two versions available, though they are the same from 'Angel of Music' on. MKV file, but good enough to be a VOB.
Marcus Lovett, Anna O'Byrne, Simon Thomas September 2012; London Video straight from the master, sharper in detail and bigger in file size than the version ripped from YouTube. Trio-oriented highlights. A mix of 5 AVI and 2 MP4 files.
Marcus Lovett, Sofia Escobar, Simon Thomas August 2013; London Full show, generally the same angle and zoom, but pretty nice quality. Seven AVI files. Earl Carpenter, Olivia Brereton, Simon Bailey, Angela M. Casar, Andy Hockley, Simon Green, Elizabeth Marsh, Vincent Pirillo, Hannah Cadec 2012; UK Tour Nice quality video, a little dark. Production needs to be seen to be judged; there are a lot of changes. Not for trade.
Earl Carpenter, Katie Hall, Simon Bailey, Angela M. Casar, Andy Hockley, Simon Green, Elizabeth Marsh, Vincent Pirillo, Hannah Cadec 2013; UK Tour Shot by the same master as above. Some footage of Olivia Brereton spliced in, missing 'Music of the Night'. Not for trade.
Geronimo Rauch, Harriet Jones, Richard Munday (u/s) April 2015; London Trio-centered highlights, MP4 files.
David Thaxton, Kelly Mathieson, Jeremy Taylor, Kimberly Blake, Ross Dawes, Kris Manuel, Jacinta Mulcahy, Matt Bateman (u/s), Georgia Ware/Lily Howes* March 2019; London NYCG8R's master, includes VOBs and MP4 file. Gorgeous, well-shot video of a fantastic cast.
Josh Piterman, Kelly Mathieson, Alistair So (u/s),Britt Lenting, Ross Dawes, Richard Woodford, Jacinta Mulcahy, Simon Whitaker (u/s), Georgia Ware November 2019; London Shot around numerous heads. Bethtrades master. Gigantic MTS files.

BROADWAY: Michael Crawford, Dale Kristien, Steve Barton, Nick Wyman, Cris Groenendaal, Judy Kaye, David Romano, Leila Martin October 8, 1988; Broadway Michael Crawford's penultimate show. Act 1 starts partway through Auctioneer's speech; Act 2 midway through 'Masquerade'. Somewhat better quality than the one of the original Broadway cast, certainly the best video of Michael Crawford on Broadway. Came to me with Christine labeled as Patti Cohenour, but it's actually Dale Kristien. Includes a clip of Michael Crawford's bows for his last show on Broadway, shot from a different angle and possibly taken from another source.
Cris Groenendaal, Rebecca Luker, Steve Barton 1989; Broadway Almost black-and-white video with constant flickering lines. Dark and tons of generation loss and washout.
Davis Gaines, Tracy Shayne, Ciaran Sheehan 1995; Broadway Phantom-oriented highlights; also includes a copy of the January 26, 1998 performance. Pretty dull picture and detail and lots of spotlight washout in wider shots.
Thomas James O'Leary, Tracy Shayne, Gary Mauer January 26, 1998; Broadway 37 minutes of scattered highlights of the tenth anniversary performance on Broadway. About the same quality as the video above.
Thomas James O' Leary, Sandra Joseph, Gary Mauer, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Patricia Hurd, Lelia Martin, Ted Keegan July 1998; Broadway Pretty clear filming and details, especially for something so old.
Howard McGillin, Adrienne McEwan, Gary Mauer, George Lee Andrews, Jeff Keller, Leila Martin* September 20, 1999; Broadway Highlights, 77 minutes, described as one of Howard McGillin's best performances. Lots of washout even in closeups and pretty dull video.
Howard McGillin, Adrienne McEwan, Jim Weitzer (u/s) September 1, 2001; Broadway Pretty good detail and color.
Howard McGillin, Elizabeth Southard, Michael Shawn Lewis, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Rebecca Eichenberger, Marilyn Caskey, David Gaschen (u/s), Joelle Gates* March 27, 2002; Broadway Pretty shaky filming and some washout, but otherwise a decent video.
Howard McGillin, Elizabeth Southard, Michael Shawn Lewis, Wren Marie Harrington, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Marilyn Caskey, David Gaschen (u/s), Joelle Gates* July 31, 2002; Broadway
Howard McGillin, Adrienne McEwan, Jim Weitzer (u/s), Patty Goble (u/s), Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Sally Williams, Larry Wayne Morbitt, Joelle Gates April 5, 2003; Broadway Fairly good quality, probably the best video of Adrienne McEwan. Another large head obstructs most of the bottom left screen. Some washout and duller than some of the other Broadway videos released earlier.
Hugh Panaro, Lisa Vroman, John Cudia* May 20, 2003; Broadway Decent picture and quality, some washout in wider shots.
Hugh Panaro, Sandra Joseph, John Cudia, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Patricia Phillips, Marilyn Caskey, Larry Wayne Morbitt, Joelle Gates* August 9, 2003; Broadway Rather massive head blocks most of the bottom, but filmer does their best to shoot around it.
Hugh Panaro, Julie Hanson, Jim Weitzer October 7, 2003; Broadway Exact same show as the one labeled July 10, 2003. Full show. Much sharper filming and detail than previous Broadway videos.
Hugh Panaro, Julie Hanson, John Cudia* March 2, 2005, Broadway Lovely quality video, nice color and details, but filmer didn't know show very well, resulting in more wideshots than might be usual. Hugh, Julie, and John make a stunning trio, though Hugh was apparently having an off-night.
James Romick (u/s), Marie Danvers, John Cudia April 2, 2005; Broadway Marie Danvers filled in for Christine while Julie Hanson was on vacation. Another great quality video. Starts during Carlotta's rant, includes James Romick's BCEFA speech at the end.
Hugh Panaro, Sandra Joseph, Tim Martin Gleason, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews,Anne Runolfsson, Marilyn Caskey, David Gaschen (u/s), Kara Klein June 6, 2005; Broadway Somewhat smaller, fuzzier picture than other videos of the same cast., looks like it was filmed by the same person as the June 22, July 16, and August 10 videos.
Hugh Panaro, Julie Hanson, Tim Martin Gleason June 22, 2005; Broadway Looks like it was filmed by the same person as the video above, with the same quality.
Hugh Panaro, Rebecca Pitcher, Tim Martin Gleason July 16, 2005; Broadway Trio-oriented highlights, Good quality, both closeups and wideshots, probably filmed by the same person as the June 6 and June 22 video.
Tim Martin-Gleason (u/s), Susan Owen (u/s), Stephen R Buntrock (u/s) August 10, 2005; Broadway Nice video, much the same as many of the other 2005 videos released around this time. Good filming and quality.
Stephen R. Buntrock (u/s), Rebecca Pitcher, Fred Rose (u/s)* August 13, 2005; Broadway Some blackouts, but great quality video with sharp details and colors.
Hugh Panaro (The Phantom of the Opera), Sandra Joseph (Christine Daaé), Tim Martin Gleason (Vicomte Raoul de Chagny), Anne Runolfsson (Carlotta), Marilyn Caskey (Madame Giry), Kara Klein (Meg Giry), Larry Wayne Morbitt (Piangi), James Romick (u/s Monsieur Richard Firmin), George Lee Andrews (Monsieur Gilles André) October 1, 2005; Broadway Hugh's final at the time.
Howard McGillin, Rebecca Pitcher, Michael Shawn Lewis, Julie Schmidt (u/s), David Cryer, George Lee Andrews, Marilyn Caskey, Roland Rusinek, Heather McFadden* August 18, 2006; Broadway Terrific quality video, very sharp colors and details. Audio is out of sync starting at 'Angel of Music' but is fixed by the title song.
Gary Mauer, Jennifer Hope Wills, Jason Mills (u/s), George Lee Andrews, David Cryer, Patricia Phillips (u/s), Roland Rusinek, Sally Williams (u/s), Heather McFadden, James Romick (u/s) May 9, 2007; Broadway Beautiful video shot in widescreen, no obstructions at all and follows the show very well. Includes a hilarious flub where Joseph Buquet fails to come out during 'Magical Lasso' and Heather McFadden, Sally Williams, and the rest of the ballet girls improvise.
Howard McGillin, Jennifer Hope Wills, Tim Martin Gleason August 12, 2008; Broadway Good quality video with poor quality filming, tending to stray towards empty parts of the stage. Jennifer Hope Wills had just come back from maternity leave, so Howard McGillin does an interesting mix of the catch-and-carry and fall during the end of 'Music of the Night'.
Hugh Panaro, Trista Moldovan, Kyle Barisich, Michele McConnell, Joelle Gates, Cristin J Hubbard, Aaron Galligan-Stierle, Kevin Ligon, Christian Sebek October 13, 2012; Broadway Incredible quality video, some of the brightest colors and details I've seen in a Broadway video. A couple of blackouts and head obstruction. Hugh is even better than in his first run, and Trista is quite nice as well.
Hugh Panaro, Trista Moldovan, Kyle Barisich, Kevin Ligon, Aaron Galligan-Stierle, Michele McConnell, Christian Sebek, Cristin J. Hubbard, Kara Klein* October 31, 2012; Broadway Trio-oriented highlights, some head obstruction and shaky filming, but otherwise a really great quality video.
Hugh Panaro, Trista Moldovan, Kyle Barisich, Kevin Ligon, Aaron Galligan-Stierle, Michele McConnell, Christian Sebek, Cristin J. Hubbard, Kara Klein* November 10, 2012; Broadway Trio-oriented highlights, almost the full show. Shot by the same person as the October 31 and November 8 show. Trista Moldovan's last show.
Hugh Panaro, Samantha Hill, Kyle Barisich, Michele McConnell, Tim Jerome, Jim Weitzer, Ellen Harvey, Christian Sebek, Kara Klein November 22, 2012; Broadway Shot by the same person as the October 13, 2012 video, so same great quality and steadier filming this time around, only a few small blackouts.

Peter Jöback, Samantha Hill (final), Kyle Barisich, Marilyn Caskey (final), Michele McConnell, Jim Weitzer, Kenneth Kantor (u/s), Christian Sebek, Kara Klein July 27, 2013; Broadway Last for Samantha Hill and Marilyn Caskey. There is one head wearing glasses in front of the camera, but the master works around it well. But that does mean that one side versus the other of the stage is shown. Focused more on Samantha since it was her final show. inallyourfantasies' maste

VARIOUS USA PRODUCTIONS: Michael Crawford (Phantom), Dale Kristen (Christine), Steve Barton (Raoul), Leigh Munro (Carlotta), Calvin Remsberg (Firmin) May/June 1989; Los Angeles Surprisingly good quality for something so old. Definitely the best video of Crawford around. There's countless versions available 2 but only two I recommend to own. Version 1: common version, good quality for its age, still some gen loss which made it a bit blurry. Includes Crawford's studio performance of Music of the Night from an unknown to me source. VOB|1 DVD|4.15 GB
Version 2*: This one comes directly from the person who digitalized it so it's rather a rare thing. Starts 10 seconds earlier than version 1, much less gen loss so picture is clearer but it's darker and colors are faded a bit. Sound is a bit clearer but has some crackle and has breaks every few seconds during last 15 minutes. 3rd pic. VOB|1 DVD|3.99 GB
Michael Crawford, Mary D'Arcy, Reece Holland* 1990; Los Angeles Finally got a VOB upgrade of this show (most are actually a mislabeled copy of the Dale Kristien video above). Much the same quality as the video above of Dale Kristien, though this one seems slightly sharper, but also has a bit more washout.
Michael Crawford, Dale Kristien, Michael Piontek January 3, 1991; Los Angeles Phantom based highlights, best footage of Michael around. RARE. 2:1 RATIO.
Davis Gaines, Dale Kristien, Michael Piontek* 1991; Los Angeles Has also been listed as a 1993 video, so it's a little mysterious. Either way, different from the monitor videos of the same cast; this is shot from the right balcony. Almost black-and-white picture with a ton of spotlight washout and pretty shaky filming.
Kevin Gray, Dodie Pettit/Teri Bibb, Keith Buterbaugh/Nat Chandler, David Hunerjaeger* June 25/26, 1992 / 1993; Philadelphia/Detroit 3 shows in 1: extended highlights of the June 25th show, Phantom-oriented highlights of June 26th show (both with Dodie Pettit as Christine), and Phantom-oriented highlights of the 1993 show, with Teri Bibb. Quality of the first two is alright, but there are many big closeups in the Teri Bibb one. The color is sepia toned but it's in great condition considering it's age. Rather hilarious flub where the lasso breaks during the 'Final Lair' of the June 25th show.
Davis Gaines, Dale Kristien, Michael Piontek, Norman Large, Leigh Munro, Barbara Lang, Gualtiero Negrini, Elizabeth Stringer* August 29, 1993; Los Angeles Final matinee performance of the Los Angeles sit-down production.
Davis Gaines, Dale Kristien, Michael Piontek, Norman Large, Leigh Munro, Barbara Lang, Gualtiero Negrini, Elizabeth Stringer* August 29, 1993; Los Angeles Final evening performance of the Los Angeles sit-down production.
Franc D'Ambrosio, Tracy Shayne, Ciaran Sheehan* July/September, 1993; Pittsburgh Highlights, Phantom-focused, starting at 'The Mirror'. Many closeups and fairly good quality for it's age; graininess and some generation loss are its main problems.
Davis Gaines, Dale Kristien, Michael Piontek, Norman Large, Leigh Munro, Barbara Lang, Gualtiero Negrini, Elizabeth Stringer* August 29, 1993; Los Angeles Final matinee performance of the Los Angeles sit-down production. Full stage shot, slightly better quality than the evening performance below. This is different from the evening show.
Davis Gaines, Dale Kristien, Michael Piontek, Norman Large, Leigh Munro, Barbara Lang, Gualtiero Negrini, Elizabeth Stringer* August 29, 1993; Los Angeles Final evening performance of the Los Angeles sit-down production. Full stage shot, slightly darker than the matinee performance video. Features a TV spot in the beginning, the Phantom messing up a line in 'Down Once More', and speeches at the end. Dale Kristien's 'Think of Me' cadenza goes on forever.
Davis Gaines, Marie Danvers, Lawrence Anderson* September 1998; Los Angeles Pretty good quality considering it's age; has yellow-ish tinge but is quite clear in details and facial expressions. Flub during the mirror scene, where the light doesn't go on to illuminate the Phantom.
Davis Gaines, Marie Danvers, Lawrence Anderson?, Leila Martin October 4, 1998; Los Angeles (Pantages) LIMITED TRADE. Phantom-oriented highlights, one MP4 file, much taller than it is wide, slightly shaky at times but filmed well with good close-ups.
Franc D'Ambrosio, Lisa Vroman, Christopher Carl October 14, 1998; San Francisco LIMITED TRADE. Phantom-oriented highlights, one MP4 file, looks like a cellphone video, being much taller than it is wide, but with amazing close-ups.

Ian Jon Bourg (u/s)/Brad Little, Rebecca Pitcher, Richard Todd Adams, David Cryer, Ian Jon Bourg* 1999; Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, and various other locations Phantom- and Andre-oriented highlights video. Focuses on Ian Jon Bourg when he is the Phantom and Andre, with Brad Little playing the Phantom when Bourg is Andre. Starts midway through the managers' speech in 'Hannibal'. Color loss and hard to see in dark areas, fuzzy and hard to see details.
Brad Little, Rebecca Pitcher, Richard Todd Adams, Ian Jon Bourg* September 7, 1999; Pittsburgh Highlights, Phantom and Andre-oriented. Complete version of the video that's edited in with the Ian Jon Bourg highlights. Bourg plays Andre, and the filmer focuses on him when he's on stage.

Brad Little, Marni Raab, Tim Martin Gleason, David Cryer, D.C. Anderson, Kim Stengel, Jimmy Smagula, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, Kate Wray* November 18, 2003; Los Angeles Nicely shot video and good quality, though it gets grainier in closeups.
Brad Little, Lisa Vroman, Tim Martin Gleason, David Cryer, D.C. Anderson, Kim Stengel, Patti Gorbea, Kate Wray* November 19, 2003; Los Angeles Same filmer as the November 18, 2003 video, so same general quality, though there's a bit more blurriness and washout than in the other video. Filming is rather shaky as well. Both Brad Little and Lisa Vroman were ill and crack on a few notes, but they're nonetheless quite excellent.
Brad Little, Elizabeth Southard, Tim Martin Gleason January 11, 2004; Orlando Matinee performance. Three DAT files. Small picture with a lot of washout and fuzziness. Looks like it was filmed by the same person who did the evening performance on the same date. Brad Little's last matinee performance in the national tour.
Brad Little, Rebecca Pitcher, Tim Martin Gleason, David Cryer, DC Anderson, Kim Stengel, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, Jimmy Smagula, Kate Wray January 11, 2004; Orlando Evening performance. A bit dull and fuzzy, but well-shot. Brad Little's final show in the US national tour.

Tim Martin Gleason (u/s), Sarah Lawrence, Peter Lockyer (u/s)* June 6, 2004; Salt Lake City Not particularly good quality for its age - shaky, washed out, poor color and lots of bleeding, very fuzzy detail.

Stephen R. Buntrock (u/s), Rebecca Pitcher, Peter Lockyer (u/s), David Cryer, DC Anderson, Joan Sobel (u/s), John Whitney, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, Sarah Spradlin-Bonomo* February 18, 2005; Ft. Myers Trio-oriented highlights. Same general quality as the two videos above.
Gary Mauer, Rebecca Pitcher, Tim Martin Gleason, David Cryer, DC Anderson, Kim Stengel, John Whitney, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, Sarah Spradlin-Bonomo* February 24, 2005; Ft. Gary Mauer, Elizabeth Southard, Tim Martin Gleason April 3, 2005; Boston Full show, with only a few cover-ups in the beginning.
Gary Mauer, Elizabeth Southard, Tim Martin Gleason April 17, 2005; Boston In Act 1, missing everything after the lair scenes until 'All I Ask of You'. In Act 2, missing everything until 'Point of No Return'.
Gary Mauer, Beth Southard (alt), John Cudia, Kim Stengel, David Cryer, DC Anderson, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, John Whitney, Kate Wray January 5, 2006; Pittsburgh, PA Evening show. Rare.
Gary Mauer, Elizabeth Southard, Jim Weitzer, Kim Stengel, John Jellison, DC Anderson, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, John Whitney, Kate Wray* April 6, 2006; Dallas Gary Mauer, Elizabeth Southard, and John Jellison's last. John Cudia, Marie Danvers, Jim Weitzer, Bruce Winant, DC Anderson, Kim Stengal, John Whitney, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, Kate Wray April 7, 2006; Dallas John Cudia's first as principal Phantom. Phantom-centered highlights.
John Cudia, Sarah Lawrence, Jim Weitzer, Kim Stengel, Bruce Winant, DC Anderson, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, John Whitney, Kate Wray* May 6, 2006; Kalamazoo Starts right after the 'Overture'. High quality capture of the show, taper follows the show well and there's good detail and color. John Cudia is a good Phantom, but still has a ways to go.
John Cudia, Jennifer Hope Wills, Adam Monley, Kimilee Bryant (u/s), Bruce Winant, DC Anderson, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, John Whitney, Kate Wray* July 1, 2006; St. Louis Starts halfway through 'Hannibal'. Shot by the same filmer as the above video with Sarah Lawrence. The filmer's settings were different in Act 2, resulting in a slightly darker and duller Act 2, but it's not all that noticeable. John has improved a lot, and has excellent chemistry with Jennifer Hope Wills. Anthony Crivello, Elizabeth Loyacano, Tim Martin Gleason, Elena Jeanne Batman, John Wolfe, Lawson Skala, Rebecca Spencer, Brianne Morgan, Larry Morbitt* August 28, 2006; Las Vegas Good color and sharper detail than the other Vegas video below. Filming is also a bit steadier; filmer catches the chandelier fall, for one thing.
Brent Barrett, Sierra Boggess, Tim Martin Gleason, Geena Jeffries Mattox, John Wolfe, Lawson Skala, Rebecca Spencer, Brianne Morgan, Larry Morbitt* August 30, 2006; Las Vegas Fuzzy and rather dull capture of the Las Vegas show. Shot from quite far back in the theater, so filming is shaky, tends to stray, and is obstructed by several heads.
John Cudia, Marni Raab, Greg Mills, D. C. Anderson, Bruce Winant, Laureen Vigil (u/s), Rebecca Judd, John Whitney, Polly Baird* August 2, 2007; Washington, D.C. Beautiful video shot in widescreen, great color, excellent and steady camerawork, taped by the same filmer as the video above.

AROUND THE WORLD: Masachika Ichimura, Ryoko Nomura, Yuichiro Yamaguchi 1988; Tokyo, Japan Proshot, excellent quality for something so old. Video does flicker and skip at times. Three flubs during the final scene - the boat stops in 'Down Once More' and the Phantom and Christine go walking on water, candles and set are not fully onstage when the leads come in, and the doll gets stuck on the Phantom's throne.
Alexander Goebel, Luzia Nistler, Alfred Pfeifer* 1989; Vienna, Austria Highlights of two-camera proshot. Some generation loss. Includes 40 minutes of interview and concert footage with various casts and productions.
Yuichiro Yamaguchi, Sakoto Yoshioka, Yuji Osa 1990; Japan Contains choppy highlights of one performance seemingly focused on Christine, and full act one from a another performance. The original DVD media this was copied from was damaged so the third VOB file contains some glitches.
Jeff Hyslop, Teresa DeZarn, David Rogers(?)* 1991; Vancouver, Canada Extended highlights, 70 minutes. Raoul may also be Byron Nease. Picture is sepia to black/white colored and fuzzy. This has often been labeled as having Patti Cohenour as Christine, but it is actually Teresa DeZarn.
Ernst-Dieter Suttheimer, Colleen Besett, Timothy Breese, Dietrich Hergt, Horst Reeh (u/s), Linda Healy (alt), Claudia Rose Golde (u/s), Sergio Lombana, Eva-Maria Weber (u/s) August 25, 1991; Vienna, Austria Good color and clear picture, tends more towards blues and whites. Shot on a tripod from the right balcony, so some parts of the stage are obstructed.
Nicholas Saverine, Colleen Besett, Thorsten Tinney, Dietrich Hergt, Jack Poppell, Robin Lee, Diana Bennett, Sergio Lombana, Alexandra Young-Schmidt 1992; Vienna, Austria Shot on a tripod from right box, probably by the same person as the August 25, 1991 video. Color and detail is sharper in this video, though.
Jun Sawaki, Kyoko Suzuki, Kanji Ishmaru* 1992; Tokyo, Japan Proshot video, but a lot of generation loss makes for a very blurred video; faces are hard to distinguish. Has a counter in the top corner.
Yuichiro Yamaguchi (Phantom), Takako Nakazawa (Christine), Masayuki Sano (Raoul) 18 January 1992; Tokyo, Japan Video is a bit shaky and has some sound issues. Also includes the end of PONR, bits of the Final Lair, and curtian call/playout from the 1990 highlights video. Much like the 1990 highlights, the original DVD media appears to have been damaged and the third VOB file is corrupted and contains many glitches.
Yuichiro Yamaguchi (Phantom), Takako Nakazawa (Christine), Masayuki Sano/Kanji Ishimaru (Raoul), Jun Sawaki (André) 1992; Tokyo, Japan Average video for the 1990s, color has a yellowish tint and there’s some generation loss. Filmed from the circle. “All I Ask Of You” and much of the “Final Lair” are cut in from another performance, filmed from the first rows (in this footage Raoul is played by Kanji Ishimaru)
Yuichiro Yamaguchi, Kyoko Suzuki, Masayuki Sano 1994 (?); Tokyo (?), Japan Phantom-oriented highlights from two different shows. The first is shot from the rear mezz, the second is Phantom-oriented highlights of the 1992 video video. Unsure of date and location; it came to me under the date 1994.
Yuichiro Yamaguchi, Kyoko Suzuki, Masayuki Sano* 1994; Tokyo (?), Japan Two videos, one complete and another short highlights (the title song, 'Music of the Night', and the 'Final Lair' only). First video filmed from near the front; has extremely shaky filming for the first act, but gets better after that, including some insanely good closeups and nice detail and color. Second video filmed from further back but still with the same awesome closeups. Same cast for both videos save for Eiji Akutagawa as the Phantom in the second video.
Colm Wilkinson, Patti Cohenour, Byron Nease 1992; Toronto, Canada 51 minutes of Phantom and Madame Giry oriented highlights. Sepia-toned, but facial features are quite distinguishable; same general quality as the other Toronto videos that came out around the same period.
Henk Poort, Joke de Kruijf, Peter de Smet 1993; Scheveningen, Netherlands UPGRADED VERSION, from original PAL format. Much clearer quality and no video problems during 'Why Have You Brought Me Here'. Full show, includes curtain call and exit music.
Alexander Goebel, Luzia Nistler, Thorsten Tinney* June 30, 1993; Vienna, Austria Last performance for the Austrian cast. Very good quality for its age - decent color and detail and with numerous closeups and wideshots. Features a few funny ad-libs by the supporting cast; curtain calls included. There's a higher quality version of this out there which I would love to get.
Peter Karrie, Teresa DeZarn, David Rogers 1994; Toronto, Canada 50 minutes of Phantom-oriented highlights. The only released video of Karrie's Phantom. Almost black-and-white picture and quite dark, but detail is sharp considering it's age.
Eiji Akutagawa, Hisako Hanaoka, Kanji Ishimaru April 6, 1994; Sapparo, Japan Final show of the production in Sapporo. Small and fuzzy quality video, but filming is decent with good colors. Upgraded to a clearer version.
Cris Groenendaal, Teresa DeZarn, David Rogers 1995; Toronto, Canada Phantom- and Madame Giry-oriented highlights, same general quality as the other Toronto videos. Color is a bit better in this one.
Toshihide Mura (The Phantom of the Opera), Kyoko Suzuki (Christine Daaé), Daisuke Yanase (Raoul) April 13, 1996; Japan MP4. Notes: Monitor video. A LOT of generation loss; impossible to actually see the detail in anyone's face or costume.
Henk Poort, Els Bongers, Peter de Smet August 2, 1996; Scheveningen, Netherlands Last performance of the Netherlands production open to the public.
Dale Tracy, Colby Thomas, Ray Gabbard* 1997; Hamburg, Germany Extended highlights starting from 'Think of Me'. Lots of generation loss, video constantly switches from color to black-and-white, washout obscures virtually all facial expressions, and camera is also constantly shaking. Otherwise, a decent video.
Paul Stanley (The Phantom of the Opera), Melissa Dye (Christine Daaé), David Rogers (Vicomte Raoul de Chagny) July 3, 1999; Toronto
Saulo Vasconcelos, Claudia Cota Gamez/Lolita Cortes(?), Jose Joel* 1999/2000; Mexico City, Mexico Highlights from two performances. The first has Claudia Cota and goes from the overture to 'Don Juan Rehearsal', cutting out most of 'Think of Me'. The second was labeled with Irasema Terrazas as Christine, but it may actually be Lolita Cortes. It goes from the auction to just before the kiss in the 'Final Lair'. Somewhat shaky and pixelated, faces are a white blur in wideshots but distinguishable in close shots.
Jerzy Jeszke, Lori Zeglarski, Bjorn Olson, Anders Sohlmann, Reinhard Schulze* April 1, 1999; Hamburg, Germany Intense colors and some generation loss, but overall good quality, though color bleeding is a bit more noticeable here and detail is slightly fuzzier.
Paul Stanley, Melissa Dye, David Rogers July 3, 1999; Toronto, Canada Huge video file, probably the only full video of the Toronto production. Mostly mid- to wideshots, detail is a bit low.
David Hunerjaeger (u/s), Valentina Kozhanova (u/s), Kyle Gonyea, Laurie Ann McGowan, Linda Bruske, Marcello Roncietto, Sabrina Harper, Stephan Drakulich, Eberhardt Neitzel August 22, 1999; Hamburg, Germany Shot on two different days, so the angle changes between acts. Fairly good picture filmed from the side.
Saulo Vasconcelos, Irasema Terrazas, Jose Joel, Luis Rene Aguirre, Jose Antonio Lopez Tercero, Tatiana Marouchtchak, Javier Cortes, Laura Morelos 2000; Mexico City, Mexico Proshot for cast and crew. Extremely limited trades.
Ian Jon Bourg, Lori Zeglarski (?), Kyle Gonyea 2000 (?); Hamburg, Germany Act 2 only, includes part of the March 31, 1999 video with Jerzy Jeszke, Carla Nicholson, and Bjorn Olsson. Christine was labeled as Colby Thomas, but it looks like Lori Zeglarski. Date is also a guess.
Hans Peter Janssens, Inneke van Klinken, Michael Shawn Lewis, An Lauwereins, Marc Meersman, Ernst Van Looy, Stephanie H. Tschïppe April 2000; Antwerp, Belgium Intense color bleeding that tends to red and yellow, but filming has very good closeups. Focuses more on the right part of the stage since there's a huge head blocking the left side, some blackouts in the beginning of the show. Also includes a making-of feature in the beginning. Minor flub during 'Notes II' where one of the managers switches to English for one line.
Ian Jon Bourg, Alison Kelly, Kyle Gonyea April 25, 2000; Hamburg, Germany Shot from the left side of the stage; tons of good closeups, great color and detail, but a little dark. Excellent cast.
Ian Jon Bourg, Alison Kelly, Kyle Gonyea November 11, 2000; Hamburg, Germany One hour of Phantom-oriented highlights. Pretty dull quality.
Ian Jon Bourg, Olivia Safe (u/s), Kyle Gonyea 2001; Hamburg, Germany Nicely shot video, converted straight from the PAL format. Filmer knows the show well, and the color and detail is pretty sharp for it's age.
Ian Jon Bourg, Valentina Kozhanova, Rob Pitcher, David Hunerjaeger, Anders Sohlman, Evelyn Werner, Taylor Wilson, Marcello Ronchietto, Kate Lawrence, Michael Nicholson, Charlie Serrano, Peter Graham, Eberhard Neitzel* Spring 2001; Hamburg, Germany Well shot video, steady and follows the action nicely. The quality is a bit worse than the other video of Kozhanova.
Michael Nicholson (u/s), Olivia Safe (u/s), Christopher Morandi (u/s), Evelyn Werner (u/s), Charlie Serrano, Anders Sohlmann, Reinhard Schulze, Linda Bruske, Kate Lawrence June 30, 2001; Hamburg, Germany Final matinee in Hamburg, somewhat small picture and blurry quality, but well-filmed. Also includes some clips from various concerts.
Ian Jon Bourg, Colby Thomas, Kyle Gonyea, David Hunerjaeger, Anders Sohlmann, Vera Borisova, Linda Bruske, Marcello Roncietto, Kate Lawrence June 30, 2001; Hamburg, Germany Source #2 of the final show in Hamburg. This video is sharper and has better color and quality overall, but filming is shakier. No coverups. Features numerous hilarious ad-libs and a beautiful 'Think of Me' and 'Music of the Night' combination at the end.
Luis Armando, Felicidad Farag, Armando Pita* 2002; Madrid, Spain Proshot from a single camera. Quality is somewhat worse than the other Madrid videos: lots of color bleeding and fuzziness, tending towards reds and yellows.
Juan Carlos Barona, Julia Moller, Zenón Recalde (u/s)* 2002; Madrid, Spain Three-camera proshot of the Madrid alternate cast; different from the other video of Barona, Moller, and Recalde. Sharp details and colors, but looks pixelated, like it was compressed when burned to DVD. Audio gets out of synch in the final scenes, unfortunately.
Ian Jon Bourg, Janine Kitzen, Michael Shawn Lewis November 16, 2002; Stuttgart, Germany Monitor video of one of the first shows in Stuttgart, with audio fed in from the soundboard. Decent color and exposure; better than the other two monitor videos that came out of Stuttgart. Filming continues through intermission, so video features 30 minutes of curtains. LIMITED TRADE.
Juan Carlos Barona, Julia Moller, Zenon Recalde (u/s) 2003; Madrid, Spain Single-camera proshot of the alternate Spain cast. Excellent quality, though a lot of mechanical noise from the camera as it moves.
Sandor Sasvari, Andrea Maho, Gabor Bot* 2003; Budapest, Hungary Small video of the non-replica Hungarian production. Mostly mid to full stage shots, not many zooms, and lots of washout, but gives a good look at all the changes.
Attila Csengeri, Renata Krassy, Gabor Bot* 2003; Budapest, Hungary Small video, same quality as the above one, but has less spotlight washout and more zooms.
Zoltan Miller, Linda Kiraly, Zsolt Homonnay May 21, 2003; Budapest, Hungary Somewhat fuzzy picture, but biggest video and steadiest filming of the three 2003 videos of the Hungarian production. Sound only comes from the right side. Zoltan Miller cracks in the title song.
Roy Weissensteiner (u/s), Marion Wilmer (u/s), Carsten Lepper 2003; Stuttgart, Germany Different from the monitor video with Maike Switzer, better quality than that one. Full stage shot and soundboard audio.
Steve Lucas (u/s), Maike Switzer, Carsten Lepper, Stefan Mueller-Ruppert, Marko Woytowicz, Barbara Grey Nystrom, Anette Kuhn, Marcello Ronchietto, Lara Glew November 28, 2003; Stuttgart, Germany Decent quality video, mostly mid stage shots. Hilarious flub in which Red Death could not make it up to the staircase during 'Masquerade', so he walks through the crowd to get there.
Sándor Sasvári, Renata Krassy, Zoltan Miller 2004; Budapest, Hungary Highlights, 76 minutes. Shot from the side, so some obstruction, but great quality, color, and detail, much better than the older Hungarian videos. Also includes the highlights video of Csengeri/Biro/Homonnay.
Attila Csengeri, Eszter Biro, Zsolt Homonnay 2004; Budapest, Hungary Highlights, 20 minutes, shot from the same angle as the Sasvari/Krassy/Miller video, which is attached to it.
Attila Csengeri, Barbara Fonyo, Zsolt Homonnay, Peter Pankotay, Bela Szerednyey, Robert Weil, Patricia Kuthy, Ilona Bencze 2004; Budapest, Hungary Highlights, 45 minutes, same angle and quality as the Hungarian videos above it.
Roy Weissensteiner (u/s), Maike Switzer, Carsten Axel Lepper* March 2004; Stuttgart, Germany Monitor video, full stage shot, quite a bit of color bleeding and exposure. Soundboard audio which gives out sometimes.
Thomas Schulze, Maike Switzer, Carsten Axel Lepper, Ernst van Looy, Jonathan Agar, Barbara Gray Nystrom, Gabriele Ramm, Marchello Ronchietto, Katie Wood May 23, 2004; Stuttgart, Germany Big picture, a little fuzzy. Blocking from heads and the bar in front; camera can be very shaky. Many wideshots and gigantic closeups as well. Last show for the Stuttgart production; features some funny ad-libs from the cast.
Zoltán Miller, Andrea Maho, Gábor Bot July 28, 2005; Budapest, Hungary Highlights, about an hour long, quite a bit of obstruction due to filming from the left balcony and the camera often goes out of focus, giving us a blurry picture, but there are also a lot of beautiful close-ups to make up for it.
Thomas Borchert, Sandra Danyella, Nikolaj Alexander Brucker, Laurie Ann McGowan, Gabriele Ramm November 27/December 28, 2005; Essen, Germany Have seen this video under two different dates. Decent capture of the Essen production, though not as good as others.
Thomas Borchert, Anne Gorner, Nikolaj Alexander Brucker, Laurie Ann McGowan, Ernst van Looy December 17, 2005; Essen, Germany Incredibly good quality video of the Essen cast: no head obstructions, lovely detail and color, and comes with a cast listing in the beginning. Probably shot by the same person who did the Ethan Freeman and Uwe Kroeger tapes.
Saulo Vasconcelos, Kiara Sasso, Nando Prado 2006 (?); Sao Paulo, Brazil Monitor video, date is unknown so I took a guess. Christine was listed as being Sara Sarres, but I have received confirmation that it is actually Kiara Sasso.
Saulo Vasconcelos, Kiara Sasso, Nando Prado 2006(?); Sao Paulo, Brazil Audience recording, looks like from two cameras. Two MP4 files ripped from YouTube, would love to get the original files.
Ethan Freeman, Anne Gorner, Nikolaj Alexander Brucker, Karen Buck, Ernst van Looy, Fernand Delosch, Bonifacio Galvan, Gabriele Ramm, Annabel Knight April 20, 2006; Essen, Germany Absolutely lovely picture quality, beautiful colors and details. A lot of head obstruction, however. Ethan Freeman's last show in the Essen production.
Uwe Kroeger, Beatrix Reiterer, Lucius Wolter (u/s), Ernst van Looy, Fernand Delosch, Laurie Anne McGowan, Gabriele Ramm, Daniel Brenna, Annabel Knight July 15, 2006; Essen, Germany Huge picture, wonderful quality, sharp details and colors, filmed from near the front, but ruined slightly by the heads in the center and majorly by Uwe Kroeger, who simply does not understand the character of the Phantom.
Masayuki Sano, Tamami Sai, Yuosuke Kitazawa* July 1, 2007; Osaka, Japan Nice, recent video of the Japanese cast. Taper sometimes drifts away from the action to focus on the stage.
Simon Pryce (s/b), Ana Marina, Alexander Lewis April 22, 2008; Brisbane, Australia Only full video of the World Tour cast. Nicely shot with good colors and quality.
Osamu Takai, Shiho Ito, Yusuke Kitazawa June 30, 2008; Japan Shot from one of the front rows, but video is a bit blurry with a lot of noise. However, using Topaz Video Enhance AI, I was able to clear it up a bit to make for a much easier watching experience--although there's still some artifacts here and there. Audio is fantastic, and seems to be the same as the audio recording we have from the same date. Anthony Warlow, Ana Marina, Alexander Lewis 2009 (?); Australia Seven AVI clips. No idea as to the exact location or date. Seven clips, Phantom-oriented highlights. Shot by the same person as the Anna O'Byrne video above. Same great quality except for the last clip of the 'FInal Lair', which is much smaller and more pixelated.
Flemming Enevold, Teresia Bokor, Tomas Ambt Kofod, Eva Malmgren, Steen Springborg, Morten Staugaard, Marie Bo, Fernando Concha, Jennifer Wagstaffe April 2009; Copenhagen, Denmark Three performances edited into one. Two MP4 files; does not look like it was ripped from YouTube, may well be the real thing.
Christian Mueller, Lisa Antoni, Oliver Arno November 30, 2012; Vienna, Austria Concert performance. Some obstruction.
Mathias Edenborn, Valerie Link, Nicky Wuchinger December 11, 2013; Hamburg, Germany Nice quality video, Valerie Link and Nicky Wuchinger are very good, Mathias Edenborn is mediocre.
Brad Little, Claire Lyon, Anthony Downing January 1, 2014; Shanghai, China Pretty decent video, three MOD/MOV files, first released video I know of for the current World Tour.
David Arnsperger, Valerie Link, Nicky Wuchinger, Debra Fernandes (u/s), Anton Rattinger, Guido Gottenbos, Linda Veenhuizen, Raymond Sepe, Theano Makariou January 19, 2014; Hamburg, Germany Slightly better filming than the video above; I prefer David Arnsperger's Phantom.
Brad Little, Kristi Holden, Anthony Downing, John O'May, Jason Ralph, Andrea Creighton, Tina Walsh, Thabiso Masemene, Eleanor Waite January 26, 2014; Shanghai, China Last performance in Shanghai. Lovely video, though parts of Act 2 are lower quality and look like they were taken from a different source. First VOB of Act 2 also tends to freeze at points. Cherry and kn11ee2066's master.
David Arnsperger, Lauri Brons, Nicky Wuchinger, Norbert Kohler, Anton Rattinger, Rachel Anne Moore, Joan Ribalta, Linda Veenhuizen, Theano Makariou April 11, 2014; Hamburg, Germany Full show, now upgraded to VOB.

Includes: part of Hannibal, from TOM to MOTN, from PONR till the end. Phantom is performed by Ermak till "Turn your face away" in MOTN, rest parts perfromed by Ozhogin. Features soundboard in PONR, though filming is clearly amateur. Csampai left the show in July so it's the first half of 2015. Possible YouTube rip. MP4
Mathias Edenborn, Daniela Braun (u/s), Nicky Wuchinger, Norbert Kohler (u/s), Anton Rattinger, Rachel Anne Moore, Raymond Sepe, Michaela Christl, Vanessa Spireti March 1, 2015; Hamburg, Germany Video was originally pretty dark (and still is in parts), but the master edited it to be brighter. This does mean that certain parts have a lot of washout while others are very grainy. Nevertheless, decently shot video.
Dmitri Ermak, Tamara Kotova, Evgeny Zaycev, Irina Samoylova, Alexey Bobrov, Yuri Mazikhin, Oganes Georgiyan, Elena Charviani, Valeria Migalina March 7, 2015; Moscow, Russia Gorgeous video, full show with lots of closeups. AVI files, but very high quality ones.
